The range is made in African, Asian, Caucasian and Latino versions, in both boy and girl. That is the point of it: a child can have a doll that looks like them, or one that does not, and a classroom or a playroom can hold several.
They are all the same size and build, so they are interchangeable in play and share the same clothes.
