Two of these will not be restocked. Meow Meow Tweet has discontinued the Face Exfoliant, and the Face Cleanser here is the retired glass-bottle-and-carton version, not the aluminium bottle the brand sells now. We have six sets.

Why This Pairing

• The exfoliant is a dry powder, and that changes how you apply it. You shake it into your hand or a bowl, add water, and mix a paste that has to stay on the face for two to four minutes. Fingertips push a gritty paste around unevenly and tempt you to scrub. The silicone side of the brush spreads it flat and keeps it moving, so the time on your skin does the work instead of the pressure.

How the Claims Break Down

How to Use

• Evening — cleanse. Massage a small amount of the Face Cleanser over a dry face. Wet your hands and massage again to turn it into a light milk, working it in with the bristle side of the brush if you like. Rinse with warm water or a washcloth.
• Morning, or in the shower — the bar. Lather the Pink Rose Clay bar over your face or body, rinse, repeat. Take care to avoid your eyes; if it gets in, rinse with water. Stand it on the bamboo dish afterwards, slats running the length of the bar, so it drains.
• Two to four times a week — exfoliate. Wet your face. Shake a small amount of powder into your hand or a bowl and add water to form a paste. Massage gently onto face and neck, then leave it for two to four minutes before rinsing. Use the silicone side of the brush to spread and move it.
• Keep water out of the exfoliant tube. The powder is waterless and carries no preservative, which is why it shakes out rather than scoops. Never dip wet fingers or a wet brush into it.
• Look after the tools. Rinse the brush after use and stand it bristles-down to dry. Rinse the bamboo dish and let it air dry; do not soak it and do not put it in the dishwasher.

FAQs

Is the exfoliant really discontinued, or is it just out of stock?

Discontinued. It no longer appears in Meow Meow Tweet's face range, and Canadian retailers that carried it have marked it as discontinued rather than backordered. What is on shelves is what is left.

My tube lists five ingredients but the reviews I read mention kelp. Which is right?

Both, at different times. The original formula was four ingredients and included kelp. It was reformulated to five — gluten-free oats, black walnut hull, lavender buds, chamomile flowers and marshmallow root — and the newer version is what ships in this set. There is no kelp in it, and the rinse time moved from one to two minutes up to two to four.

Why is the cleanser in glass when the brand's website shows a metal bottle?

Meow Meow Tweet changed the packaging, not the formula. Compare the ingredient lists and they match. This is the earlier glass bottle and paper carton, which we are not able to reorder.

Can I use all three every day?

The cleanser and the bar, yes — most people use one in the morning and one at night, or keep the bar for the body. The exfoliant is meant for two to four times a week. Using a scrub daily is the quickest way to make skin worse rather than better.

Do I have to use the brush?

No. All three products work with your hands. The brush earns its place with the exfoliant, where spreading a paste evenly and leaving it alone for a few minutes is easier with a tool than with your fingers.

Allergen note: the Face Exfoliant contains black walnut hull, a tree nut. Please do not use it if you have a tree nut allergy. As with any new skincare, patch test on a small area first, and keep all three products away from the eyes.
