How to choose

Six pairs, and which one is yours depends on your hair

HiBAR builds its bars in matched sets: every shampoo has a conditioner formulated to finish what it starts. Find the line that describes your hair and take both bars — mixing lines is where most people find a bar routine underwhelming. If you are coming off bottles and not sure yet, the sampler packs at the bottom let you work through three before committing to a full size.

Normal hair

Maintain

The everyday pair, for hair that is already in reasonable shape and just wants a thorough wash. Nothing corrective going on — it cleans properly, rinses out clean, and leaves hair balanced rather than stripped or weighed down. Citrus scent.

Dry, thick or colour-treated hair

Moisturize

The hydrating pair, for hair that drinks conditioner and still feels rough — thick, dry, curly or colour-treated. It is also the only line HiBAR makes without fragrance, so it doubles as the choice for anyone who reacts to scent. Both versions are here: citrus, and fragrance-free.

Fine or flat hair

Volumize

For thin, fine hair that has gone limp by the afternoon. African dates and vitamin B5 add body without the residue that makes fine hair fall flat again an hour later. Citrus scent.

Damaged or heat-styled hair

Repair

The rescue pair, for hair that has been through heat styling, colour, sun or salt water. It is the most concentrated of the six and priced accordingly — this one is about rebuilding rather than maintaining.

Itchy or flaky scalp

Soothe

Aimed at the scalp rather than the lengths. Willow bark and salicylic acid work as a gentle exfoliant on flaking and itching, which is a different job from an anti-dandruff shampoo that simply strips. Citrus scent.

Curly, coily or textured hair

Curl

For curls that want definition rather than volume. Soap-free and pH-balanced, so it cleans without roughing up the cuticle — which is exactly what gives ordinary bar soap its reputation for frizz on curly hair.

How do I actually use a bar?

Hold it

Cup the bar in your palm with its long edge resting against your fingers, and steer the bevelled top through your hair with your fingertips.

Lather it

Apply it straight to very wet hair, massaging into the scalp and roots — not the ends — until it lathers. Then rinse thoroughly and do the same with the conditioner bar on the lengths.

Store it dry

Keep it like a bar of soap: dry, out of direct water. The bar is shaped to stand upright so it sheds moisture between washes. Left sitting in water it turns soft and disappears in weeks rather than months, which is the most common reason people give up on bars.

The solid, plastic-free approach carries through everything else HiBAR makes. Three face wash bars: Cleanse is the plain fragrance-free one, Hydrate is for dry or sensitive skin, and Renew exfoliates gently with powdered olive seed. The body wash bar is soap-free too, built around charcoal and salicylic acid for oily or breakout-prone skin.

Deodorant in a paper tube

Try three before you commit

Each sampler holds three mini bars — Maintain, Moisturize and Volumize — for less than the price of one full-size, so you can find your match before buying properly. The bamboo lift keeps whichever you settle on out of standing water, which is most of what makes a bar last.
